Professional Experience
James is passionate about finding solutions for his clients. He is experienced in navigating the array of issues in family law cases. Having a successful career in business prior to becoming a lawyer, James has a strong foundation in financial matters and negotiating settlements. He has helped his clients with everything from complex custody battles to negotiating settlements for high-asset cases involving business and real estate.
James focuses on the client’s perspective and brings to his work, empathy and understanding to extremely difficult situations. He prepares his clients for the range of outcomes and develops a case strategy that reduces uncertainty and promotes efficient resolution to the case.

Interests
James enjoys competitive sailing, tinkering with anything on wheels, and mountain biking. James competes regularly in local and national sailing regattas. When at home, he almost always has a project going on, whether it’s regular car maintenance, rebuilding a dune buggy, or renovating his home in Ridgefield, Washington.
