Brian is a member of the Oregon State Bar.
He tutored immigrants and refugees studying for their GED. He is also active in the criminal justice community.
Brian has an unhealthy love of college football, he lifts weights to help him pretend he’s not getting older, and he enjoys fawning over his two adorable cats.
Brian was born and raised in Detroit and moved to Portland with his girlfriend – now wife – after college. He immediately enjoyed Portland’s vibrancy and quirkiness.
A broad range of careers provides Brian with the experience to understand people’s concerns and the ability to help them achieve their goals.
He prosecuted domestic violence crimes here in Multnomah County and was a street cop for the Portland Police Bureau. If you want to hear a crazy story from him, just ask.
He also worked in the financial industry providing financial advice to individuals and families. For that he obtained a slew of securities licenses.
Brian litigated family law cases here at Stahancyk, Kent & Hook years ago, then ventured out and started his own family law mediation firm. He has resolved many divorces through mediation, where he is a neutral third-party who does not represent either spouse.
The connective glue between these careers is simple: protecting people and their assets. That is the foundation of estate planning and where Brian thrives.
