Carson Bortz

Carson (she/her/hers) is a newly Licensed Paralegal and an active member of the Oregon State Bar Association. Carson has assisted attorneys on cases involving divorce, custody and parenting time, modification of spousal/child support, asset disclosure, Family Abuse Prevention Act restraining Orders, prenuptials/post-nuptials, and more.

Education and Professional Experience

Carson earned a Bachelors of Art Degree in Criminology & Criminal Justice from Portland State University, with an emphasis on Spanish language. She studied abroad in Barcelona 3x in high school and college.

For her college capstone projects, she interned at Multnomah County Department of Community Justice, where she worked with mothers under parole supervision. She also volunteered at Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School as an afterschool computer science aide.

Carson joined Stahancyk, Kent & Hook as a Legal Assistant in November 2020. Before working at SKH, Carson worked as a community based social worker. It was working with under served kids in schools with IEPs and 504 plans that inspired Carson to get into the legal field.

Community Involvement

Carson received the 2016 Public Service Award from Multnomah County. 


Carson is a voracious reader, from Wikipedia to Voltaire. She enjoys gardening to various degrees of success. Carson also enjoys watching and following big-wave surfing, traveling (mostly to the North Shore of O’ahu, HI), and her favorite food is spam musubi. When she’s not working, she spends time with her cat, Peaches, writes poetry, does DIY home projects, walks the trails of Powell Butte, and entertains her friends and family.
