Vince Roman of Stahancyk, Kent & Hook‘s Vancouver office told the historic tale of Mary Tuomala in the Finnish American Reporter this month.

Remembering Mary Tuomala is a story about a woman who had a strong will and determination. She worked as a maid at the infamous Charles Brown in Vancouver, Washington, which houses the firm’s Washington office. Tuomala, who came from humble beginnings in Helsinki, rose to become a much-respected woman in America. Her story involves grit, moral character, and a stroke of luck that landed her at the Charles Brown House. Click here to read the full story.

The Finnish American Reporter is a monthly, English language journal, featuring articles and news reports of interest to Finns across North America, in Finland and around the world. It is the largest and most widely-circulated newspaper for Finns in North America.
