As we gear up for next weekend’s “Great Pumpkin” sightings, SK&H has compiled a list of fun things to do this weekend that include both indoor and outdoor activities such as vintage arcade game playing and pumpkin cannon shooting. There’s also fun pre-Halloween things to see including a creepy doll house and plenty of drinking at not one, but several food-and-drink-friendly fests. Have a great weekend!

Great NW Beer & Wine Fest
October 21-22
Portland Expo Center

The inaugural Great NW Beer & Wine Fest will feature wonderful vendors from Oregon breweries, wineries, cider makers, distilleries, and restaurants, plus live music! It’s all taking place at the Portland Expo Center. The proceeds from the Great NW Beer & Wine Fest will directly benefit the Oregon Humane Society.

Cost: Tickets, $12.

Portland Retro Gaming Expo
October 21-23
Oregon Convention Center

Play 200 arcade games and watch tournaments at the Portland Retro Gaming Expo (PRGE) in the Oregon Convention Center. PRGE is a Portland-based, non-profit cooperative organization dedicated to creating awareness of, and appreciation for, classic video and arcade games through the presentation of events and conventions. It’s a celebration of the historic contribution video games have made and continue to make in popular culture. And it’s really fun and cool!

Cost: Weekend pass, $35. Single day tickets vary.

Pumpkin Fest
October 21-30
Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm

Want some classic fall activities? At Pumpkin Fest, you can see pumpkins shot from a cannon, take a hayride, navigate a corn maze, try archery & paintball, or simply pick-up a pumpkin to call your own.

Cost: Admission, $8. Some activities have additional costs.

Halloween Dollhouse
October 21-23

See 700 creepy and gory dolls in a Piedmont home at Doll Asylum. Donations of dolls are welcome as well. Cool. Creepy.

Cost: Free!

Portland VegFest

October 22-23
Oregon Convention Center

Portland VegFest is all about plant-based living and offers free samples, films, cooking demonstrations, 100 exhibitors, speakers, and tasty food at the Oregon Convention Center.

Cost: Single day admission, $9. Two-day admission, $16.

Run Like Hell Race
October 23
Pioneer Courthouse Square

Run Like Hell! includes a half marathon, 10K, and 5K, which all begin and end downtown at Pioneer Courthouse Square. There’s even an after-party!

Cost: Registration cost varies by run length.
