BLT on Savory French Toast with Green Onion Aioli


  • 4 Slices French bread
  • 12 Slices bacon
  • 1 Medium tomato, sliced into 1/4 inch slices
  • 6 Slices fresh buffalo mozzarella
  • 1/2 Head iceberg lettuce, shredded
  • 2 Tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 Tablespoons green onion aioli (recipe below)
  • 1 1/2 Cups savory French toast batter (recipe below)


  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 1/2 Cups milk
  • 1 Tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 Teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 Tablespoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 Tablespoon black pepper

Green Onion Aioli:

  • 1/2 Cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 Cup green onions, chopped
  • 1 Garlic clove
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 Teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 Teaspoon black pepper


For the batter, whisk all the ingredients together in a medium sized bowl. Place the slices of bread in the bowl making sure the batter coats them evenly and set aside. For the aioli, place all of the ingredients in a food processor and mix until well combined and set aside.

Pre-heat your oven to 400 degrees. Lay the bacon on a sheet pan lined with foil and cook in the oven for about 15 minutes. Meanwhile, in a large sauté pan, melt the 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. When the butter is foamy, place the bread in the pan. Cook about 2 to 3 minutes on each side.

To assemble, place a slice of French toast in the center of a plate, spread 1 tablespoon of green onion aioli on the toast, 2 slices of fresh mozzarella, 3 slices of bacon, 2 slices of tomato, a handful of shredded lettuce, and a small dollop of the aioli on top to finish. Absolutely delicioso.
