Before joining Stahancyk, Kent & Hook, Lindsay gained valuable experience in a variety of legal areas. She worked for an established Oregon practitioner, focusing on juvenile dependency and criminal defense, developing skills in complex case management and trial preparation. Lindsay also worked for a family law firm in Salem, and for the Oregon Law Center where she gained experience in the practice of family law and client care.

Lindsay Howk is a member of the Family Law section of the Oregon State Bar. She is also an active member of the Multnomah County Bar Association.
Lindsay currently volunteers as a mentor for high school students at Minds Matter, a portland non-profit organization dedicated to the enhancement of youth education. Lindsay has previously volunteered with the Public Interest Law Project and the Environmental Justice Clinic at Willamette University College of Law. She has also volunteered with Legal Aid Services of Oregon in their Farmworker Protection Office.
Lindsay is a mountain lover who, before law school, was a mountaineering and glacier travel instructor in Alaska. She also enjoys cooking, hiking, yoga, and international travel.
