Legal Assistant
Education: Thom completed his associates
degree in paralegal studies at PCC. He also has a Secondary
Education degree from PSU and
an MA in Greek language and literature. His undergrad degree
is a BS in Political Science from PSU. In addition, Thom
has two years of Arabic Language studies from PSU and the American University of Cairo.
Professional Experience: Thom is a man
of many trades: He worked 13 years for the family engineering
and manufacturing company installing bakery equipment around
the world. He taught social studies at Lincoln
High School and
Cleveland High School and did a 2 year stint as a Special
Ed teacher at Glencoe
High School in Hillsboro. He has also worked in marketing
and sales for the construction trades and the apparel industry.
As part of his paralegal studies he interned with the National
Crime Victim Law Institute at Lewis & Clark.
Community Involvement: Thom is active
with the High School youth ministry at Sonrise
Church and does
development and outreach at local migrant camps.
Interests: Thom and his wife
have recently down-sized from a home with four children
to a condo with two dogs. He enjoys reading, hiking, bicycling
and racket sports.
