Lizzy LeRud
Legal Assistant
Education: West Linn High School.
Westmont College.
Professional Experience: After a letter-winning
performance as Bailiff for her high school Mock Trial team,
Lizzy knew she would succeed in the legal world. She went
on to study modern poetry and music at Westmont College
in Santa Barbara, California, also spending a semester
in the United Kingdom studying theater and a summer teaching
English in Debrecen, Hungary. After graduating, she decided
to devote her intellect to law and her heart to literature.
She plans to attend law school and model the rest of her
life after Wallace Stevens, the lawyer and modernist poet.
Lizzy
has experience working in patent law as well as family
law, and she moonlights as a professional writer, specializing
in marketing and, of course, poetry.
Community Involvement : Since she was young, Lizzy
has played the violin in numerous community orchestras
and at local churches. After college, Lizzy interned for
Literary Arts of Portland and now volunteers her time at
their special events. She also volunteers around her hometown
of Oregon City, most recently acting as Media Relations
Specialist for the Oregon City 150th Celebration committee.
Interests: Lizzy spends her time reading and being
with family and friends. She comes from a long line of
local history buffs and enjoys being dragged to local museums
and national historic sites. Lizzy has recently learned
to rock climb and her new goal is to scale a glaciated
peak and join the Mazamas.
