Practice Emphasis: Family Law
Education: A native of Portland, Matt studied philosophy and psychology
at Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA, before earning his Juris Doctorate
from the University of Oregon in 2007. While in school, Matt worked as
an intramural referee and supervised parental visitations for the Department
of Health and Social Services. He also clerked for a civil practice firm
in Eugene during his final year of law school.
Professional Experience: After law school, Matt was an associate for
a civil litigation firm in Spokane, WA. Matt provided sole litigation support
for a six-week dental malpractice trial in the summer of 2008, which rendered
a $15 million jury verdict. While in Spokane, Matt assisted in dissolution
and third-party custody cases as well. Matt currently practices family law
with our Vancouver office.
Professional Activities: Washington State Bar Association, admitted
2007. United States District Court, Eastern District of Washington, admitted
2008.
Community Involvement:Matt is new to the Vancouver,
Washington community and is openly seeking opportunities to utilize his skills
outside of the firm. Matt would encourage you to contact him with any new
volunteer opportunity.
Interests: Matt’s interests outside work lie
in music. He has played bass guitar and electric guitar in various musical
groups in college and law school. Matt is also an avid basketball player.
