Laura Rackner, Managing Partner of the Portland Office and Sun River homeowner, comes to Central Oregon several times a month to assist clients. Rackner's position on the Board of the Oregon Academy of Family Law Practitioners and the University of Oregon Board of Visitors as well as her work in the Marion County Deputy District Attorney's Office, Oregon Attorney General's Office – Family Law Section and Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration have earned her a reputation of prominence among Oregon's top family law attorneys.

She is joined in the Portland office by associate, Laurel Hook who graduated from the University of Oregon Law School in 1996. She interned with the Pierce County Prosecutor's Office and worked in the civil and criminal areas of the Juvenile Department before joining the firm in 1999. In keeping with the firm's tradition of community outreach Hook has worked with victims of domestic violence and Habitat for Humanity.

Stahancyk, Gearing, Rackner and Kent is also proud to include Law Clerk and Prineville native, Kristin Larson. Ms. Larson is a 1992 Pomona College graduate and currently attends Lewis and Clark Northwestern College of Law from which she expects to receive her Juris Doctorate in 2002.

It is with pride that Founding Partner and Prineville native, Jody Stahancyk, regards her impressive colleagues. The "girl from Prineville" whose tenacious representation has earned her distinction as Oregon's top divorce lawyer also proudly salutes the top notch staff she's assembled.
