by Phil Stanford
The Portland Tribune, April 10, 2001

High-priced divorce lawyer Jody Stahancyk has been having no end of trouble with the on-hold telephone music at her office. First they tried Rush Limbaugh, but half the clients complained. Then they switched to an all-news station, but some callers got so wrapped up in the unfolding drama of the moment that they objected when whoever they were waiting for came on the line. In desperation, Jody picked up a tape of the Andrews Sisters that she'd bought for her father and slapped it on the machine. Nice up-tempo 40s stuff: "Hit the Road," "Don't Fence Me In." Also very popularback then: "Six Times a Week and Twice on Sunday." Some days you can't win for losing.
