Oregon Estate Planning
Estate Planning is the
act of determining what happens to your property after you've passed
away. Estate Planning begins with the evaluation of your assets,
income needs, lifetime goals and intended beneficiaries. After discussing
your overall objectives, we devise a plan to achieve your goals,
while minimizing state and federal taxes. We will help you make
decisions regarding guardians for minor children, trusts for preservation
of assets, and techniques to make sure your assets pass to your
intended heirs. We develop a proposed plan, and work with you to
make sure you understand the plan and ensure that it meets your
goals and objectives.
Once approved, the plan is implemented. The plan may include a simple will, or may be a complex estate plan which can include special needs trusts, tax-favored trusts, family limited partnerships, business transitioning, and other asset restructuring.
The Estate Planning process does not always end with signing documents and making the necessary asset transfers. We can also assist you on an ongoing basis in making annual gifts pursuant to your estate plan, and assist executors, administrators, and trustees in dealing with difficult assets and complex estate issues, as well as post-mortem tax planning and probates.
