SKH Weekend Roundup: Bunnies, Beer, Easter Cruise & Hortlandia
This weekend is (allegedly) going to feature beautiful weather. That’s why you should get out and take full advantage of all the weekend activities offered throughout our region. That might involve an Easter egg hunt for the kiddos, or perhaps one with a decidedly more adult bent. There’s also a beer and wine fest and a great opportunity to gather plants for the garden. So what are you waiting for, get hopping!
Spring Beer & Wine Fest brings 80 Northwest beers, wines and spirits, gourmet food, chocolate, cheese, and chef seminars to Oregon Convention Center. As they do every year – the first 500 people through the door on April 14th will get in to the Portland Spring Beer and Wine Fest for free on Friday!
Eggs-citing times are in store at Rabbit Romp, a celebration of spring geared toward the under-10 crowd. This Romp features candy-egg hunts by age group (to age 10) every 15 minutes, bunnies to pet, bunny crafts, and games at the Oregon Zoo. Rabbit Romp festivities also include lettable animals at the Family Farm, bunny crafts, games and photo opportunities. Rabbit Romp is free with zoo admission.
Families follow a map to collect free treats in shops, do art projects, win prizes, and hear music in Jamison Square at Hippity Hop Bunny Hop Through the Pearl. From 10:30-2:00 pm: Bring the whole family and go on a hunt to collect treats, do art projects, and meet the Easter Bunny. Collect stamps at each location and be entered to win raffle prizes. From 2:00-3:00 pm: Come back to Jamison Square to enter into the Raffle. Live music from Micah and Me, treats, and a chance to take photos with the Easter Bunny!
